So you're thinking writing about your own nonfiction book. How wonderful! I LOVE that so many are willing to share their light this way.
Over the past eight years, I've been able to work together with many fellow writers to help hone and polish their messages.
I specialize in nonfiction, from biographies to my first love--inspirational nonfiction. At this time I don't edit fiction, though I can be persuaded to make exceptions if chocolate is involved.
Whether your book is an idea in your heart and mind right now, or polished and ready for submission, I am here to help if you need it.
P.S. Before you hire me or any other editor you feel is a good fit, it's good to make sure you really need one. And editor can be extremely helpful, but not always necessary.
Check HERE for a list of things you can do yourself, as well as a list of when NOT to hire an editor.
"Working with Michelle was easy
She was quick to get back to me and very attentive to my work. She also seemed to have a feel for what needed to happen with my manuscript, and was able to quantify and explain needed fixes in ways I could clearly understand. She looked into the soul of my writing and pulled out a
more complete picture."
Monique Berish, Author of "More"
"I cannot say enough good about Michelle's editing skills.
I didn’t personally know Michelle before she helped edit my book, although I was familiar with her writing.
I feel so lucky that she agreed to edit my book as she helped it
on so many levels.
First, she had some great “big picture” ideas, suggesting some very important restructuring of the introduction and first two chapters that reshaped the book in important ways. Second, she had great suggestions of additional directions I could go within the chapters that helped extend the ideas I was communicating. Third, and perhaps most important, she had incredible suggestions in terms of wordsmithing specific paragraphs and sentences.
She has a powerful way with words and brought that to
bear on my manuscript.
I used to be skeptical of hiring a freelance editor to work on my book based on an experience I had fifteen years ago. But I have no hesitation about recommending Michelle Wilson as
an outstanding editor."
