In this short book written in 1903 (yes, you read that right, 1903), James Allen unfolds in clear and unapologetic prose the answer to all of our problems: Our thoughts.
Allen theorizes that our thoughts have the power to shape our narrative and character, create happiness, and even heal our bodies and souls. And, so did new longings within myself to read more, to adventure more, to change more. I wanted to be like Dorothy, brave but kind. This book made me see the power of story, how with simple imagination and good writing, I could transport others into the worlds I create, to meet the characters I love, and to bring them joy, |
