Michelle Wilson is a speaker and writer of inspirational nonfiction. She is the author of DOES THIS INSECURITY MAKE ME LOOK FAT? and THE BEAUTIFUL BALANCE: CLAIMING PERSONAL CONTROL AND GIVE THE REST TO GOD, and THE PERFECT MOM.
Michelle loves faith, family, food, and smiling. She is an expert at Guitar Hero, has a bad habit of laughing at the wrong times, and hates writing about herself in third person because it's just weird.
I am a speaker that writes. My first love is talking to women about the goodness of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ and the greatness within ourselves. We are great because God made us so, so why not celebrate that! I also love laughter. A well-timed, witty joke is up there in beauty with the stunning peaks of Mt. Rainier. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Let's put down the bats we beat ourselves up with and have some fun.
A few more random things about me:
I have three dogs, two horses, and one cat . . . and I'm not really an animal person. This is how much I love my family.
I eat ice cream out of the carton, but only with a fork.
I write women's fiction under the name M.E. Wilson because it makes me sound smarter.
I love speaking more than writing.
I love learning more than speaking.
I crochet, but not well.
I am late often, but a counselor once told me it was because I'm a "producer," so I've got that going for me.
Every day I start off with good intentions, and every night I go to bed apologizing. Lol.
I love frosting more than cake.
I love God most of all.
"But, she's a Mormon. If I'm not, can I still read her books?"
The short and fervent answer is, YES!
My hope is that as you do, you'll find that we aren't that different.
Throughout my life I've met amazing women who love God like I do. It's been wonderful to build on our common beliefs, but there have been some who couldn't seem to get past my religion. But it's not just Mormons-- it's any belief that is different from theirs. And it makes me sad, because there are SO many wonderful women out there who are trying to walk in Jesus' footsteps. I would love for us women of faith (weak or strong) to be able to look past our differences and see the common beliefs we all share: We love the God. We want to be good mothers, good wives, good people. We want to be happy. We all want to be like Jesus.
I love God and will take any chance to talk about Jesus. Even in the cheese section at the grocery store at ten o'clock at night. True story.
I write books for all Christian women. Some have LDS (Mormon) undertones. This simply means there are some quotes and stories from the Bible and the Book of Mormon inside, but the message is for all women. Others contain no LDS-specific references. LDS undertones: DOES THIS INSECURITY MAKE ME LOOK FAT? THE BEAUTIFUL BALANCE: CLAIMING PERSONAL CONTROL AND GIVING THE REST TO GOD.
No LDS undertones: THE PERFECT MOM
So, yes, you can read all my books. Please read them. Not for me, but for you. God loves you. He hears you. He knows you. And He wants you to come closer to Him.
